Join us for FREE staged readings of new plays in our intimate Sculthorpe Theatre,
created by our 2023 Creators’ Unit.
These projects have been in development with the Capitol Theatre throughout the year and now it’s time to share this work with you. Play readings will be performed by professional actors at music stands. You might hear an excerpt from the play or the full script.

The Cameco Capitol Arts Centre is a professional regional theatre located 1-hour and 15 minutes east of Downtown Toronto where you will experience top quality productions, concerts, and special events in the historic and picturesque small town of Port Hope.
The Capitol has received recognition for embracing its history and earning historical status. This has resulted in the theatre playing a role in notable films and television. Honouring its history as a movie theatre, stage productions often incorporate projections and video as well as other innovative technologies to create an enhanced live-theatre experience.
