ABOUT
TPS Equine, is a passion project for Trent and Patricia Sheppard. The company was founded in 2017 with three miniature horses, Red, Mia and Max.
To date they have visited over 100 retirement homes, homeless shelters and community living programs, they work with schools and daycares, churches and are guests at day camps.
In 2020 Chester, an American Paint horse joined the herd and in 2021, came the purchase of the farm, and Shotgun, a miniature weanling, Harmony an Appendix horse joined shortly thereafter. Since then, they have added a pony named Finnegan, a retired Standardbred named Leo along with Muscovy ducks, Toulouse geese, Sebastopol geese, chickens a bunny named Polly, two sheep, two donkeys Sweety and Fiona and the most adorable, barn cat Fontaine, TPS Equine Stables opened its doors to provide pony playdates, educational opportunities and birthday parties. Their Pony Picnic and Old Fashioned Country Christmas bring together the community for unique experiences.
The horses don’t just provide therapy, they also show competitively. A team of children of all abilities was created and meets weekly; fostering a love of horses and showing off their skills. These children and young adults perform at events and compete at shows. The only team of its kind in Canada, these little horses prove anyone can excel.

The Sheppard Foundation
Our foundation exists to off-set the costs of visits to retirement homes. Through fundraising we are able to ensure that our work can continue despite rising costs associated with visits, such as labour, fuel and vehicle maintenance.
This farm, the work we do, it is our living legacy. In time the foundation will evolve to encompass care for these special animals and proceeds to continue their work long after we are gone. We are creating something special, and we want to ensure it exists for generations to come.
